TrackMounts was created from a simple problem. My Mom walking off without her cane. When every step counts, being able to locate it as quickly as possible was even more important.
The obvious answer was to attach a Bluetooth tracker to it, but how? I clipped one onto the handle and she hated it. It kept swinging while she used her cane and would hit her hand and the cane shaft.
I had a 3D printer so I decided to try and create something. I wanted something that fully enclosed the Bluetooth tracker but still allowed sound to pass through so we could hear it when she lost it. I wanted it to work with both Android and iPhone users and also wanted it to be easily transferable from one cane to another.
After a long time of measuring, printing, testing, then printing again, I finally came up with the TrackMount to fit standard canes and the TrackMount XL to fit both standard ⅞” canes and large 1” canes.
Each TrackMount is 3D printed by me in Sacramento, CA. I inspect all of them before they go out. Each one is made to order, though I do try and keep some inventory to fulfill orders faster.
